Hollis Brown is a great local NYC band, whose debut album was just pressed this week. Tonight they will be playing The Bitter End down in the West Village. I encourage everyone to check them out.

I wish I was this creative.

What you thought there was more?
Last Wednesday, Coldplay performed a free show in at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City for Yahoo!’s Nissan Live Sets series. Luckily, yours truly was at the show, dead-center, front row (I waited in line from 2pm until the doors opened). I was going to write a post about this when the HD videos were available on 12.01.08. However, someone got a video camera in the show and posted some videos on YouTube. You can my pics from the show here or check out the videos after the jump.

If you’re like me, then you probably haven’t picked up an actual print publication in months. Almost everything I read is in digital form. I’m still amazed that most people do not use an RSS reader. Google Reader has increased the amount of content I consume tenfold. The problem that I run into however, is reading on the subway. With no cell or wifi service and a 30 minute commute to work, I have yet to find a decent RSS app for offline reading. Then I stumbled across Instapaper, for the iPhone and iPod touch and my commute hasn’t been the same since.
Instapaper allows you to save websites for offline browsing. Similar to the “post to del.icio.us” bookmark for Safari, Instapaper has a “Read Later” bookmark for your Safari. Simply click the “Read Later” bookmark, and your page is saved. Once you’ve saved the page, open the app on your iPhone, hit the “update” button, and within seconds the pages are there for you to view. Just make sure that you hit “update” before you hop on the subway though, as the app does not do this automatically and needs a signal to download the stories. You only need to download a story once for it to be saved.
Awesome. At the beginning of September, Coldplay announced that they would be releasing an EP of tracks that were left off Viva La Vida. More news on the EP is out including the title, Prospekt’s March, and the tracklisting. As reported by MTV News, the EP will include a remix of the single “Lost!” and will feature a guest spot from Jay-Z. Prospekt’s March will be released on Nov. 25th. Tracklist after the jump.
The track list for the Prospekt’s March EP, according to Capitol:
1. “Life in Technicolor ii”
2. “Postcards From Far Away”
3. “Glass of Water”
4. “Rainy Day”
5. “Prospekt’s March/ Poppyfields”
6. “Lost +” (Jay-Z remix)
7. “Lovers in Japan” (Osaka Sun mix)
8. “Now My Feet Won’t Touch the Ground”
