This is from the beginning of October. I’ve been meaning to post it, but couldn’t get a cover done for it. The photo was taken today on a ride in Central Park. This is just a good weekend mix; pop it on while you’re running around the city and enjoy.

Spotify is pretty ill. I was skeptical at first (I have over 20,000 songs in my iTunes library) that I would have any use for it. I’m a convert. I’ve been using so much that my IT department at work killed my Internet connection last Friday and told me not to use it anymore in the office.
I’ve been putting out mix for several years now, as I love sharing music with people. While Spotify might not have every song in the world (I listen to way too much that’s unreleased or too new to be on the service), I’m going to try sharing my mixes through Spotify. I’ve made all my previous mixes available on Spotify, although some tracks are missing here or there.
For a treat, I just threw together some of my favorite DJ Premier tracks. Just put it on random and let it play. You can subscribe to the mix here. Hope you enjoy.
What a year. 2011 has brought a lot of change in my life, and it’s only July. New job; new people; pretty much starting over. With that, I’d like to share a mix I’ve been bumping for the last month or so. This is a short mix with all the tracks having a similar feel and flow, similar to Nights in NYC and Into the Dark. With the exception of the J.Cole lead in, you can zone out to this one, collect yourself and gather your thoughts; get some Fresh Air if you will.
Tracklist and download below. Hope you enjoy.
Recently, I changed jobs. I moved from Wall St. up to Midtown at the beginning of October. Before I had left my previous job, I started to create a mix titled “Closing Time.” I had a good core group of songs, but the mix just wasn’t fully there yet. As the first week of my new job came to an end, I finally felt like I had completed the mix. However, “Closing Time” didn’t seem like an appropriate title anymore. With Fall having just arrived and a new chapter of my life unfolding, I thought “A New Beginning” fit perfectly.
A couple notes: First. thanks to my buddy Nick for the art. I love that cover. I had an idea of what I wanted, but Nick came with something different, and ultimately better. Second, the end of the mix. I know the last 4 or 5 songs don’t really fit the mood, but I wanted to get them into the mix somehow. Think of them as iTunes extras. If you don’t like them, just don’t add them to your iPod. And finally, if you like the music, support the artists and either go see them live or buy the music.
With that, I proudly present:
